It’s an awkward mix of things that came out this week, from the romance-comedies to the grisly and blood-soaked. And maybe a third of it is OK to watch. We will find out.

Couples Retreat

  • If you couldn’t tell from the title, it’s about a group of people that head out to a tropical and romantic island to try and fix their marriage. Think Tyler Perry’s “Why Did I Get Married?” but with a budget and for white people.

The Stepfather

  • Honestly, if you saw the movie with Shia DaBeef, then you aren’t missing much. Man marries into the family and seems like the perfect guy, but instead is a homicidal killer. Won’t you be my neighbor?

Dante’s Inferno

  • Based off the epic that was a part of the Divine Comedy (go look it up), this DVD is really a blend of the different levels of hell, created by some of the most inspirational animation studios in the world. Done to come out with the game (yeah, I know), the DVD is just packed with religious nuances and gore. But what do you expect? It’s Dante’s Inferno.

Stargate: SG-U 1.0

  • First season of the new Stargate series is back up, and honestly for me it’s a little too much 90210 for me. However I have been told that it’s gotten better, so I just need to sit down and give it a shot.
