The Smurfs are Coming to a Screen Near You.

What you are looking at is what a smurf will be in 3D. Coming sometime next year, that dream will be true for whoever wanted to see Papa Smurf and Smurffette in real life (kinda). The CGI/live action hybrid will tell the tale about how the smurfs somehow get transported to our universe and will live in the kitchen of a 30-something woman, while her friend helps her keep the little blue curmudgeons secret. Running the show is Raja Gosnell, the man behind Scooby-Doo and Beverly Hills Chihuahua, so at least he kinda knows how to write for kids.
I’ve never liked the smurfs. They always freaked me out and annoyed me like only a mime could. So the idea that they are coming to the big screen scared the hell out of me and makes me want to punch a baby at the same time. It’s an awkward feeling.
